Teeth Whitening

Everyone wants whiter teeth. Most people are getting them. And, why not? Your smile is the first thing others notice about you than any other physical feature. So, it's important to keep it looking bright. Some whitening systems and products have even been proven to aid in the prevention of cavities and improve overall health of your enamel. But with so many alternatives available, where do you begin looking for the option that is right for you?

Well, the two major types of tooth whitening systems are in-office, power whitening or at-home whitening. The tooth whitening at home involves wearing a custom-fitted soft, flexible tray containing tooth whitening solution. This appliance is more exact in fit than over-the-counter products because it is made from molds of your teeth. Trays are worn for one or two weeks or until you get the desired level of whitening. Many people wear the trays, without worry, while sleeping or during the day without people noticing.

The new laserfast tooth whitening method we use whitens teeth more permanently with better looking results in just about an hour. This laser-like method is actually a high intensity light. It's fast as a laser, but gentle on your teeth because it doesn't produce extreme heat. It can erase years of deep stains, and in many cases even tetracycline stains.

What do patients say about our new whitening procedure: "I'm not covering my mouth anymore. I look better and have more confidence. And, it was so easy!"

Natural Looking Fillings

No more unsightly dark mercury metal fillings. White fillings provide a more natural and attractive way to restore your tooth. Mercury is used in thermometers because it expands and contracts. Imagine what that can do to your teeth over time. When a metal filling separates from your tooth, it might not be noticeably loose, but this separated area can harbor disease.

Laser bonded natural-looking, advanced restorative resins bond with your teeth, which means we can remove less of your healthy tooth structure to use them. Modern composite fillings help support the tooth, avoiding the weakening and cracking that can come from silver/mercury fillings. This can save more of your natural tooth for years to come, and may in fact, prevent the need for a crown on that tooth later in your life. Bonding is also used as a less expensive alternative to veneers. It uses tooth colored resin (filling material) to reshape close spaces or reshape teeth.

Ceramic-type inlays and onlays are actual inserts of glass or porcelain that are bonded, or fused, into the tooth with minimal removal of healthy tooth as well. Bonded inlays and onlays are usually more durable than bonded resin fillings. And, they provide us with more esthetic options. We can create healthier, whiter smiles with this very strong ceramic material.

Whether you choose bonded resin or bonded ceramic restorations, you'll never regret getting those silver/mercury fillings out of your smile. You'll be able to laugh with whiter, brighter teeth that make your smile look young again. You can rest assured that today's cosmetic dentistry not only gives you a great looking smile but, superb health as well.

Excessive or Uneven Gums

Excessive or uneven gums can be corrected with cosmetic surgery, a gum lift, resulting in a more even, pleasing smile. Many times, evening of the gums is performed along with other cosmetic treatments offered and found on this page.

Natural Looking Dental Implants

Our practice has a special interest in implants because dental implants are more focused on opening up possibilities instead of limiting you in the area of diet or funtionality. Whether you are missing one, a few, or all of your teeth, dental implants can dramatically change how you feel about your smile today and for the rest of your life.

Dentures many times weaken your jaw and cause it to recede. Dental implants keep your jaw strong and youthful looking. It's like you have your natural smile back - the look, the feel and the function. Implants restore proper chewing function so you can enjoy foods previusly too "difficult" to eat. You feel confident that your replacement teeth won't move or loosen. You enjoy the closest duplication of your natural teeth that has ever been offered.

Clearly dental implants are one of the finest treatmentoptions dentistry has to offer. With their abbility to improve the quality of your life and health, it's easy to understand why they have becomethe accepted alternative to traditional methods of replacing missing teeth.

Smile Designs: Porcelain Veneers and Crowns

The latest smile enhancement breakthrough, porcelain veneers close spaces, increase length, create maximum whiteness, and straighten teeth - so they are preferred by many of our patients. They are also very durable. Deep tetracycline stains can be removed from a smile with this procedure. Veneers can sometimes allow patients to bypass orthodontic treatment. In as short as two visits you can have a smile that beams confidence.

For a natually asthetic smile, porcelain crowns, also called ceramic crowns, are very attractive for two reasons. First, they provide a natural look for those who don't want everyone to know they've had dental work. Second, they are so close in strength and durability to natural teeth that they are becoming the preferred alternative to metal crowns in many cases.

Beautiful, strong porcelain crowns are the epitome of esthetic and restorative excellence and quality when treating severely damaged teeth. We believe we craft them with an artistic sense and place them with extraordinary precision. However, we try to go to this option as the last possible solution to saving a natural tooth and root. Our patients realiz that our first proority is always to preserve natural tooth structure. This approach maximizes the comfort and longevity of their restorations.
